About

Jon is an experienced Sustainability and Green Building Professional. After graduating as a Mechanical Engineer from the University of Texas at Austin, Jon has accumulated several years of experience in the design, construction, and operation of sustainable buildings.

With experience ranging from Residential Solar PV design and Utility Interconnection at Tesla, to on-site construction experience with regenerative, off-grid, net-zero energy and water homes at Earthship Biotecture, to building performance modeling (energy modeling and natural ventilation design studies), tax/incentive application management, and sustainability certification management (LEED, CHPS, AEGB, WELL) at DBR Engineering Consultants, Inc. reach out today to see how I can optimize your project by cost and resource efficiency.

Experience:

  • 16 LEED Projects - Energy modeling throughout design + LEED MEP Credit documentation

  • 32 Energy Models - Completed mostly for LEED or Code Compliance. Some completed purely for design and comparison

  • 1 Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD)/Thermal Comfort for Natural Ventilation Model - Used during early design to test feasibility and optimize natural airflow through a high school Natatorium

  • 22 Building Projects - ENERGY STAR Certification and Commercial Portfolio Management

  • 2 ArcSkoru Projects - Setting up Portfolios and Projects to track Operational Performance

  • 2 CenterPoint Rebate Applications - Attained ~$35,000 over two projects in energy efficiency rebates for chiller/RTU replacements

  • 10 Articles - Written for DBR in a series titled "Designing for Health" which outlines each category of the WELL v2 Building Standard
